CHEATS AND GODS is still here.
Since opening in March, the exhibition has continued to change over the past months. Individual works disappeared; new ones were added. After almost half a year, it now returns in an altered form: REDUX.
Returned and different – like Fortuna Redux, the Fortuna of a fortunate homecoming. Modulated, shifted in its horizon of meaning by new works, and concentrated. Without abandoning the Romantic, post-Kantian premise at the heart of CHEATS AND GODS: the human being as a creature that continually conceives and imagines itself and its world anew. A second, shorter chapter. Familiar things remain, others shift, and new relationships emerge between the gods.
History, myth, God, gods, cheats, freedom, a dancing Christ – and we, as always, right in the middle.

FROM THE DÜSSELDORF SCENE
At the same time, p.w.richard opens an exhibition of prints from his collection. On view are works by Joseph Beuys, Imi Knoebel, Heinz Mack, Blinky Palermo, Sigmar Polke, Günther Uecker, and others.
From the Düsseldorf Scene looks at one of the defining art scenes of postwar Germany: from ZERO and Joseph Beuys, through new approaches to materiality and the expanded concept of art, to Minimal Art and Capitalist Realism and at a Düsseldorf whose influence was not limited to the visual arts, but later also became a defining centre for electronic music, punk, and Neue Deutsche Welle.
